2017 GCSE Exam Results

 

Halewood Academy students and staff celecbrated record GCSE results this summer.  Following the school’s successful Ofsted inspection in April, when inspectors judged the school as Good, it was a fitting end to a hard year’s work for the Class of 2017.

51% of students achieved 5 A*-C GCSEs including English & Mathematics- an increase from 44% in 2016.

51%  of pupils gained Grade 4 or better in both English and Maths.

80% of students gained a Grade 4 and above in English.  59% achieved a Grade 5 and above.

Results in English Language, English Literature, Business Studies, Computer Science, Dance, Drama, Food Technology, Music, PE, RE, Science and Spanish were either in line with or above the national average.  Results also improved in Mathematics (up 6%) and History (up 29%) compared to 2016.
