Digital Day 2017
Halewood students participated in Digital Day last week, giving them the opportunity to investigate the challenges of digital careers.
What is Digital Day?
Part of BIMA’s Young Talent initiatives, Digital Day is ideal for 13-16 years and offers practical advice on how to get into digital, the depth and breadth of careers available, and gets hands-on experience tackling challenges from our awesome brand sponsors.
Our Digital Day took place on 14th November and sees digital professionals from John Lennon Airport head back to school for a day to inspire our students, and give them insight into a world of digital careers.
What happens on the day?
In the morning – digital professionals form John Lennon Airport introduce their world of work to the students, sharing their own career experiences whilst providing insight into the breadth of careers available in digital.
The afternoon is dedicated to the nationwide Digital Day competition. Competing for fantastic prizes, students work in teams to complete one of the sponsored challenges with guidance from the digital professionals.
The final solutions are then submitted back to BIMA for our judging panel to decide which groups will be crowned Digital Day Champions for 2017.
Thank you to our partner at John Lennon Airport - Clare Rogerson and Ali ???
Our winners for the challenge were Brendan Burns, Logan Wright, James Sherlock & Craig Stocks with their innovative use of gaming and virtual reality technology to produce a proposal for an anti-bullying app called “Choices”. Well Done!« Back to Latest News
