Halewood Stands Up to Cancer
Halewood Academy students and staff are Standing Up To Cancer this week as part of the nationwide fundraising taking place this week. There is lots going on in school this week and we are aiming to raise as much money as possible. So far almost £1000 has been raised.
Our Year 10 Prefects have organised many events and here are just a few of the activities taking place!
Russell Hayes, Year 10 Prefect, is organising a Penalty Shootout after school on Friday - a shootout with a twist! Mr Day, Mr Daly, Mr Helm and Mr Evans will be the goalkeepers!
Year 8 student, Erin Forshaw, had the great idea of buying some pink ribbon to make the pink bows that lots of students are now wearing. The first batch sold out on day 1! They are on sale in the Year 8 Homebase for just £1!
Year 10 student, Lauryn Stanton, will be accompanied by a cuddly toy this week - Everyone can have a try to guess the name of the cuddly toy - Lauryn will be visiting Form Rooms and the Atrium so please have a go!
Our Senior Leadership Team are taking part too! Everyone can take part in the 'Guess The Baby' competition! Have a go and see if you can spot Mr Evans or Miss Corrigan! We will be amazed if anyone spots Mr Daly!
Year 9 student, Harry Connolly, literally will be Standing Up To Cancer - he will be doing a sponsored 'Stand Up' on Thursday! Today, Year 8 student, Ellyse Judge, has been completing a sponsored silence - not a peep out of her today!
We will keep you updated on all the activities taking place in the Academy this week via our website and Twitter!
