Welcome to the web page dedicated to our High Attaining and talented students.
High attaining students are those in Yrs 7 & 8 who have achieved 105+/120 in their Key Stage 2 SATS (English, Maths and Science) or those in Yrs 9 - 11 who achieved a Level 5. We seek to provide students with a rigorous and challenging learning experience throughout their time with us.
Talented students are those who have high ability or potential in areas like sport, music, design or creative and performing arts. Students who fit this profile will be teacher nominated.
Skills like leadership, decision making and organisation are also taken into account when identifying and providing for high attaining and talented children.
Our commitment to support and extend your child
It is the responsibility for all our staff to support and develop your child’s interests and strengths, as well as ensuring they are challenged in lessons and given the opportunity to develop their talents. We recognise that whilst it is important to work on a person’s strength, we also need to broaden out their other abilities. Our aim is to deliver our ‘high attaining’ and ‘talented’ provision within our classes, through challenging and stimulating lessons which include open ended activities to challenge and push our students. We also provide additional opportunities within and beyond the school day through exciting extra-curricular enrichment activities.
