Halewood Future Female Leaders

Halewood Academy has created its very own Future Female Leaders programme.  Miss Gallagher, Vice Principal, helped to create the programme.  She explained, "We felt that there are not enough opportunities for students to meet females in leadership roles who our young ladies can aspire to be like.  The programme will give participants the opportunity to meet other women, share experiences, give and take advice and guidance from others."  The idea is it will also enable participants to explore our core values in a variety of situations; collaboration, excellence, resilience, aspiration and respect.  The programme has two strands; to be a mentor to other young girls in school and/or to have a professional mentor .  Miss Gallagher and Mrs MacCallum have managed to secure some fantastic female mentors from a variety of different employment sectors; all have signed up to give at least one hour (every six weeks) of their time to mentor a young female from Halewood Academy.

The first group of Halewood Academy students involved in the programme were invited to their first public event on Wednesday 17th October 2018 at Knowsley Hall.  They celebrated 15 Years of Women in Business in Knowsley with some very influential women. This was such a special event. Our young Future Female Leaders were surrounded by empowering women who will continue to inspire them for years to come.
