Double Award Winners

Halewood Academy staff and students celebrated winning two awards at the inaugural Knowsley Education Awards ceremony at Liverpool University.  The input of school Governors into the improvements at Halewood was recognised as they won the Governing Body of the Year award.  The final award of the evening also went to Halewood Academy - the Most Inspiring Secondary School of the Year award.  Mr Evans asked all of the 25 staff present, along with newly appointed Head Boy, Elliot France, and Head Girl, Katy Allen, to join him on stage to receive the award.  He praised the teamwork that was evident across the academy and the work of all the staff before dedicating the award to the memory of Megan Hurley.   Halewood Academy had a further 5 nominations but with strong competition in all categories it was special to take away 2 awards.
