1st December 2020
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we approach the Christmas period with heightened optimism for what is to come, and as we reflect on a unique period in all of our lives, I’d like to thank all of our parents and carers for the support you have given our school leaders, teachers and support staff since the beginning of the pandemic.
This term in particular has been a challenge for us all in making sure our pupils and colleagues can come to school as safely as possible, whilst maintaining our commitment to delivering the curriculum our pupils deserve, even when pupils have not been in school because of Covid-19. Your support and understanding during this time have played a critical part of helping us manage the many issues our schools have become used to dealing with on a daily basis.
I would also like to thank our colleagues in schools and our Trust central team who have worked tirelessly during the Autumn term. Many of our colleagues have worked long hours, at weekends and during the half term break to continue our internal track and trace arrangements and do our best in communicating with our parents/carers and pupils. We continue to do everything we can in sometimes very challenging circumstances to support our pupils, their families and our communities.
As we near the end of term, it is encouraging that the Liverpool City Region is seeing reduced rates of Covid-19 and that real progress has been made in finding vaccines which may point the way back to life as we knew it at this point last year.We are all looking forward to a well-deserved Christmas break for all our pupils, staff and our communities.
Our now familiar methods for identifying Covid-19 related concerns through internal track and trace procedures, responding according to government guidance and communicating with parents and carers will continue until Sunday December 20th to make sure any Covid-19 issues can be followed up. After this time, we are keen that all of our colleagues in schools have time to rest and enjoy being with their families ahead of the Spring term.
I’d like to again thank you all for your continued support and to wish you well for Christmas and the New Year. Please enjoy the holiday period and be as safe as you can be, we look forward to welcoming all of our pupils back after Christmas for what I’m sure will be a successful 2021.
Season’s greetings,
Gary Kelly
