Admission to a secondary school is an important step for a young person and potentially an anxious time for parents and carers. The Governors wish to ensure that each child can be offered a suitable education to meet his/her needs, without prejudicing the welfare and education of other children in the school.
Prospective parents, carers and pupils who are currently in Year 6 are invited to school to get a glimpse of the Halewood Academy experience. The annual Open Evening will take place on Thursday 23rd September, 4.30pm - 7.00pm.
More details to follow..
Halewood Academy sometimes has to operate a waiting list for year groups for those children whose initial application is refused. Should places become available later in the year then the list will be reviewed. Length of time on the list does not give additional priority. Students on roll at other schools within the area who seek to transfer, will normally only be admitted at the start of term following their application.
If a child is refused a place then parents/carers have the right to appeal.
