What do we expect learners to get from studying History and RE?
By studying History and RE, students will become increasingly independent, building their confidence in applying their skills within their lessons and demonstrating a greater depth of understanding of their subject by the end of Key Stages 3 and 4. Furthermore, students will develop their understanding of the relevance of History and RE in the wider world and the associated career opportunities related to those subjects. Students will also develop an understanding of the values of SMSC and be able to apply this understanding in the outside world. Through engaging and stimulating lessons, student engagement and levels of interest will be high and lead to accelerated progress and hopefully inspire them to study History and RE beyond Halewood Academy.
