Our Physical Education curriculum is designed to:

Develop an understanding of healthy, active lifestyles, and create a platform for lifelong participation.

We aim to do this by:

  • Building on KS2 fundamental skills; and in line with National curriculum requirements, to improve core and advanced skills in a wide range of sports.

  • Developing knowledge and understanding of a healthy, active lifestyle.

  • Offering KS3 activities which will transfer directly into KS4 studies in either Sport Science, Physical Education or Core PE.

  • Providing a practical curriculum which offers a broad range of activity areas including numerous team games, outdoor Adventurous activities, trampolining and fitness.

  • Creating extracurricular provision available for all year groups to promote lifelong participation and competitive opportunities.

What do we expect learners to get from studying Physical Education?

  • A broad and balance curriculum with a wide range of opportunities to develop skills in a variety of different sports and activities. Our curriculum allows all pupils to achieve their potential in lessons and on any course of study. Pupils are able to attain excellent outcomes which are in line or above National. A range of extra curricular clubs allow pupils to develop skills further and have the chance to represent school in a variety of sports. Pupils will understand how to lead a healthy, active lifestyle and chose to participate in physical activity outside of our school setting while showing RACER qualities in all that they do.
